1. Checking Social Media
It's not only bad for your mental state but it's also a sure way to waste precious time that you could be using better. Scrolling up and down through that superficial posts will only make you lose energy and focus.
2. Taking a Hot Shower
As comforting it may sound a morning hot shower will only make your whole body relax more and not be able to wake up. So instead of having a hot shower in the morning have it in the evening or after work hours. Try to have cold showers as it will make your body more attentive and fresh.
3. Drinking Coffee Immediately
Cortisol, known as the stress hormone is naturally produced in our body and it helps us feel more alert however caffeine can seriously interfere with the body's natural production of cortisol and in time can lead to caffeine addiction due to which our body will produce lesser amount of cortisol. So if you are a coffee lover then try to have it after 2 hours of your waking up.
4. Leaving your Bed Unmade
Making of bed is seen as the keystone habit that may lead to chain reactions that can help other good habits take hold. And it has been said by a Navy Seal that "If you want to change the world start off by making your bed".
5. Not Drinking Water
After all the night hours your body can get really dehydrated and so you need to provide it with enough liquid as soon as you wake up, moreover drinking water in the morning will give you more sense of alertness and will push your metabolism and the processes in your body. If plain water doesn't sound good to you try putting some lemon.
6. Skipping the Breakfast
There's a good reason behind the saying that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It's like a fuel that keeps our body running during the day and science has shown many shreds of evidence that you get a mental advantage when you eat in the morning. So choose healthy foods which will help in focussing more on your targets.
7. Being Negative
The way you condition your mind has a great impact on how you experience your whole life. So the way you think in the morning, what you listen to, what you see and what you read represent powerful determinants for how your whole day will go.
So make sure the content you consume is empowering and provides value.
8. Waking Up At Different Hours
It's important to wake up as much as possible at the same hour each morning, it helps you develop that consistency that determines you to become more effective in everything you do. It helps create a balance between your brain and body.

It's important to stretch your body while you are still in bed to make sure that you get a good start for the day. Studies have shown that stretching while you are still in bed make your muscle more relax and builds up the confidence to kick start your day.
